What panels does the vehicle signage template cover?
It covers 7 panels, each drawn at a typical size for its class of vehicle, and your signwriter confirms every size against your measured panel. The spec sheet in the download says so.
| Panel | Typical size | Area | What the artwork works around |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ute side (dual cab) | 1900 × 700mm | 1.33 m² | keep clear of the front door handle, rear door handle and wheel arch; artwork may cross the door shut |
| Ute tailgate | 1400 × 450mm | 0.63 m² | keep clear of the handle and lock |
| Van side panel | 2200 × 900mm | 1.98 m² | keep clear of the sliding door track, door handle and wheel arch |
| Van rear doors | 1500 × 1100mm | 1.65 m² | keep clear of the handle and window glass; artwork may cross the door split |
| Trailer side | 1800 × 600mm | 1.08 m² | keep clear of the wheel arch |
| Truck or tray body side | 3600 × 1200mm | 4.32 m² | keep clear of the chassis rail and underrun |
| Car door decal | 600 × 400mm | 0.24 m² | keep clear of the handle |
How big is the lettering on the template?
The layout sizes the business name and phone number for the distance each panel is read from, working to 5.6mm of capital height per metre: on a ute door, a name read from 25m gets capitals of at least 140mm. A long business name sets smaller than a short one and can fall short on a small panel, so the spec sheet states the height each line lands at and the distance it reads from.
Can the vehicle template be cut from vinyl?
Yes: choose cut vinyl mode in the editor and the panels keep to flat colour, with no feature finer than 2mm on the finished panel, which is what a weeder can lift without tearing. Printed wrap mode takes anything, including gradients.
What files come with the vehicle template?
An SVG for each of the 7 panels, a transparent PNG of each at 2000px wide for proofs and quoting, and a plain-text spec sheet for the signwriter. The vehicle signage guide has the full tables for letter height by reading distance and what to hand your signwriter.
Common questions
Do you install vehicle signage?
No. We supply the artwork and a spec sheet. Any signwriter or wrap installer can fit it, and they will measure your vehicle before cutting.
Will the artwork fit my ute?
The panels are drawn at typical sizes for each class of vehicle, and a dual cab ute side is drawn at 1900 × 700mm. Models differ, so your signwriter confirms each size against your measured panel.
