Where a photographer's logo gets used
A photographer's logo does most of its work sitting on top of someone else's picture. It is the watermark on a proof gallery, the credit in the corner of a shared photo and the header of a website full of images that should get the attention.
A logo that sits on photographs has to read in white over a busy image and in black over a pale one, and it has to stay out of the way. The photography set is spare for that reason: a crop mark, an aperture and a wide-spaced wordmark.
Using the logo as a watermark
The download includes a transparent PNG of each lockup. Change the ink to white in the editor and download again for a version that reads on dark images, since a bought design can be reopened and downloaded again at no cost. A transparent PNG can be placed as a watermark layer in photo editing software.
Your own name
Many photographers trade under their own name, and a first and last name is longer than most business names. Type yours above to see how each logo sets it, including the wide wordmark, which spaces it out across one line.
Questions
- Can I use the logo as a watermark?
- Yes. The transparent PNG is the file for it. Set the ink to white in the editor for images with dark backgrounds.
- Can I change the colours after I buy?
- Yes. Reopen the design from your account, change anything except the business name, and download the files again at no cost.
